My name is Claudia, I am from the Netherlands, and I am helping my friend Lara, 20, raise money for her family to survive in displacement camps. They are from Shujaiya, one of the largest neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip that has been largely destroyed.

Lara and her family have been displaced to camps in Deir al-Balah – a city in the center of the Gaza Strip. She lives in a single tent with her parents and five siblings (the youngest is 3 years old!). As the blockade continues, I am asking you to soften your hearts and give what you can for Lara and her family’s ongoing needs to survive. The cost of the goods that are already available is very high. Together we can make a difference. ❤️

Lara’s story in his own words (edited for clarity):

I’m Lara…. a 20-year-old engineering student at Al-Azhar University.

Despite the harsh conditions and the war we face every day, I still hold on to my dream and continue my studies. I believe education is our path to survival, but the circumstances have become too difficult to bear, and I can’t continue alone without your support.

Please take just one minute of your time to read my story.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but our pain is too great to hide. I write to you from the heart of suffering, from a small tent in Gaza, hoping in God first, and then in your compassionate hearts, to help us.

We are a family from Gaza, now living in tents — under suffocating heat and merciless hunger.

We are 8 people: five daughters, one brother, my sick father who can no longer work, and my injured brother who urgently needs medical treatment. Since the beginning of the war, we lost our home and everything we owned. We were forced to live in a tent that offers no protection from the burning sun or the cold nights.

We have lost our home, which was our refuge, our future that we dreamed of, and even our memories that lived within the walls of our house have now become nothing but pain and sorrow we carry in our hearts. Everything has vanished, leaving us to face the unknown without safety, warmth, or hope. Today, we need your hands to help us rebuild a new life and restore the dreams that have been shattered.

We have no source of income, no idea how we’ll get food or medicine. Days pass as we struggle just to survive. My mother cries silently every night, hiding her pain from us, and we try to be strong — but hunger and deprivation are stronger than our childhood.

We are living through a real famine. Food prices have skyrocketed, and while some goods have entered Gaza, we simply can’t afford to buy anything. We see food in the markets, but we can’t even dream of tasting it. Our children cry from hunger, and my mother stands helpless — no money, no food, no options.

We’re not asking for much, only what we need to survive — food, water, medicine, and dignity.

No income, no salary, not enough aid… Only our patience and faith that kind hearts will not leave us alone.

We write to you today with tears in our eyes and pain in our hearts, begging for your help — even the smallest donation through the campaign link below.

*Your donation is not just support — it is life for an entire family.*❤️

*Our only hope is that you open your hearts to us and contribute whatever you can through the campaign link below.

From aching hearts, from beneath a tent collapsing under heat and sun, we say:

May God reward you all. Please, don’t forget us in your prayers.

We thank you from the depths of our hearts and pray that God blesses you for your kindness — and that you never have to see what we are living through.

— Lara ‍

This is Lara’s story, and it continues to unfold in unimaginable hardship.

Since October 7, when our lives were torn apart, we’ve been trying to survive in southern Gaza after fleeing from the north. We had hoped it would be temporary, but nothing has improved—in fact, everything has become more desperate. The home we once knew is now rubble, and with it, all sense of stability and safety has vanished.

Now, two months have passed without a single donation. I fear we’ve been forgotten. My family is barely surviving. We haven’t had reliable access to food in weeks. The hunger is constant, gnawing at our bodies and spirits. My youngest sibling, only three years old, is especially suffering. I watch him grow weaker each day, and it’s unbearable. There’s nothing more painful than seeing a child cry from hunger and knowing you have nothing to give.

My body is exhausted, my soul broken—but I try to hold on, if only for my family.

We are alive, but just barely. Please, don’t forget us.
